[ ABOUT // WHY THIS VEST EXISTS ]

Not a carpenter vest with a new label.

Carpenter vests are built to carry 20 pounds of nail bags on your hips. Inspectors carry light, dense instruments and read reports on a tablet. That is a different job, and it needs a different vest.

[ ORIGIN // THE PROBLEM WE KEPT HEARING ]

Inspectors were carrying the wrong solution.

Every solo inspector we talked to had rigged something. A carpenter vest with half the pockets empty. A belt sagging with an NCVT, a moisture meter, a borescope and a phone. A tablet jammed into a back pocket. The kit was light. The way it hung was not.

So we mapped the actual load-out, instrument by instrument, and built a pocket for each one. Then we moved the weight off the lumbar and onto the shoulders and torso, where the body carries it without complaint.

PROTO-03 // BACK PANEL
  • 01

    Weight moved to the shoulders

Load-spread shoulder straps carry dense instruments off the hips and lumbar, the opposite of a nail-bag belt line.

  • 02

A pocket mapped to each instrument

NCVT, tester, moisture meter, borescope, thermal, awl, pens and camera each get a home, so nothing floats loose.

  • 03

A padded sleeve for the tablet

Your report screen rides flat against the torso, up to 11 inches, protected and reachable.

  • 04

    Full mesh back and quick-release

Breathable for attic and crawlspace heat, with a one-pull waist strap that plays well with a fall-protection harness.
